Great tutorial, thank you so much!
I watched multiple videos much longer than this and learned less from all of them together than I learned from your video. Great work.
Those engineer crimping tools are fantastic , follow the instructions and it’s a perfect crimp every time.

Thank You!
If the wires are hanging out slightly to long to crimp can I cut a small amount of the wire of?
Can someone tell me the gauge of the wire used?
Beautiful and to the point, thank you!
This doesn’t help me at all! Damn these things are tiny! It’s almost impossible to check if you did a good crimp and my hands are way way to big! There has to be an easier system😂
Thank you for really clear and concise tutorial. Did my first crimping of a 4-wire JST-PH connector, great success! When I insert the middle wings in the tool and start crimping, the connector often wants to turn sideways. Should I try to straighten it always, or maybe that does not really matter?
Thank you very much for this excellent video ! Can you please share an Amazon link to buy this tool used for crimping ? Thank you
Sooo good!
97$ HAHAHAHAH
whats the jst connector? xhp-2? I need one female, i think it good. What do yo think?
Thank you so much for a proper video on crimping these, just a straight explanation with no padding and a clear example, no more and no less. I wish more of youtube was like yours! 🙂
U to M
Awesome! So many ppl ask for videos on how to do this and now I can direct them. Thank You
I was having trouble with the insulation crimp on small 24 ga. wire, it would be a folded up mess. I found if I cut off about 1mm on each of the insulation wings it makes a perfect crimp on the small ga. wire insulation.
You are the Crimp King
simple and concise! thank you!
Once the clip is inserted, is there a way to remove it out of the connector?
You make it look so easy.
Great video. You should make a video comparing the various crimpers if you have havent already.
Why does youtube not make this the only video for JST connector crimping?
many thanks
Nice video. There are some JST crimp videos out there that are 20 minutes long. Seriously, it doesn’t need to be that long.
Perfectly to the point. Thanks!
Excellent tutorial, thanks!
extremely helpful, thank you
Toll und wo wird erklärt welche Aussparung an der Zange für welche Kabelgröße verwendet wird. Woran orientiere ich mich hier?
I have just 2 crimps to make on a JST sm 2.54 and dont want to shell out money on a crimper I may never use again, can the terminals be crimped with pliers of which I have quite a large collection?
The only things that would make this video better: loud techno music, shaky vertical camera, hands working out of the video frame and inaccurate crimping instructions. If you’re smiling and nodding, you watched the other crimping videos before you found this great example. Kudos enph.
omg finally a video that explains it well. quick and to the point, THANK YOU
If only all ‘how-to-do-it’ videos were this good. Down to business immediately with great close ups and clear explanations. But now I have no excuse!
"Get to the chopper"
Will a 1.3mm work if I don’t have a crimp with the 1.4 size?
Isn’t the JST connector a 2.5mm pitch compared to the usual stripboard 2.54mm pitch though?
Good! Practical in less time, satisfying
Immaculate tutorial!
Thanks so much for this.
First, there are a TON of different types of JST connectors. These look like they might be JST XH connectors. Second, your crimper recommendation is ridiculous. Most crimpers are not that expensive for this style of connector – and they can do it it one pass (not two as you describe)
Pro tip: instead of breaking the connector from the wire strip, cut the strip so it leaves a tab that can be used to handle the tiny connector. This help to orientate the connector in the crimper, especially for the tiny 1.0mm SH connector. Crimp the connector on the wire and then finally break-off the connector from the tab.
Wie dick ist das „Kabel“, das du benutzt?
I got the crimping down but inserting to the housing is putting stress on the wire. I’m channeling happy Gilmore screaming at the wire. "Go home, go in your little hole" it’s not as easy as you made it look. Or I’m doing something wrong.
if only this JST Plus could come to us in Pakistan 🇵🇰 like that we will have less tax to electrify it. 😭😭😭😭
Couple of tips from a guy going insane
1) If you have a crimper make sure you take the “power” of the crimper to like 0. There’s a screw holding a rotating dial in place. Get pliers to rotate the dial. You should be able to barely crimp it with your non dominant hand.
2) make sure the wire box isn’t inside the crimper at all otherwise it gets crushed and deformed.
For my Amazon crimper, I put the connectors in the .25 jaw.
Hope this helps!
Allah razı olsun sizdən qardaşım. Bu gözəl videoya görə təşəkkür edirəm.
This was just what i needed. Subscribed!!
simple and straight to the point, it’s a few years since i made these connections, so thanks a lot for the refresher
In a way this PA-09 crimping tool really looks better than SN-01BM since the laws are narrower. You can (have to) crimp it in two stages but that gives you more visibility and control. They are damn expensive though, like 3-times more expensive.
